Joshua, 31, has the opportunity to take revenge on the undefeated Ukrainian next season after activating his match clause.
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of the fight, revealed that AJ is 'obsessed' with being three-time heavyweight champion of the world.
According to him, Anthony Joshua was hurting from losing his world heavyweight titles to Oleksandr Uzyk. But he said that he has never been more hungry or determined to win the rematch.
"Actually, obsessed" is a better term because he has talked about it, what he should do, and what he needs change in every conversation we have had.
Hearn, Matchroom Boxing's chief executive, believes that AJ and his team used the wrong strategy for their Tottenham tussle against the former cruiserweight king.
He said, "I've heard many comments about how the tactics were flawed - and they were - but I find it difficult to not appreciate what Usyk did."

"But, when you think back to [Andy] Ruiz's loss, that was something different. It was so shocking, nobody knew what else to do.
"Here you could see AJ’s mind working overtime to beat Usyk. It was almost as if the preparations for the rematch had begun.
Hearn hopes to stage Usyk Vs Joshua 2 in the first half of next year, but a solid plan has not yet been put in place.
He stated that he would formally announce the rematch and begin planning with K2 Promotions. March or April seems sensible for the rematch.
Joshua believes he can exact revenge on his London 2012 Olympian opponent, saying, "I've seen the fight, analysed and identified my mistakes.
"I've learnt my lesson. Do not worry about me. My spirit is strong!"
Joshua stated immediately after the fight that he didn't think it was possible to make a difference if you looked at it negatively.
But if you see it from a positive perspective, you will realize that I lost.
"But that's not a lesson. That's a blessing. It can be used as fuel to improve my life.
""And use it to right my wrongs. From there, you can only improve.
"So, I'm not going to hold myself back from the mistake that I made. I'm only going to lift myself up and say, "Actually, what do you know? It was a hard fight.
"But from that fight I'm going to go away, get out my notepad and find ways of improving."
