After the fight was stopped in round 2, Warrington's bout with Lara ended in technical draw

The fight was stopped at Headingley Stadium after four rounds. This frustrated Warrington and his fans.

Gray's decision to prematurely end the contest after Lara's horror gash is undoubtedly right, but it can't be denied.

Hearn uploaded a photo of the slash to Instagram and said, "What a sickener, but a horrendous cut!"

After being denied the opportunity to avenge the February loss at Bronco's hands, Warrington was devastated.

After the encounter, he stated that all these people wanted to see him get his redemption tonight.

"I thought I had opened him up with a punch in round one, but after a clash of style, my head hit him. "I'm devastated."

He said, "I wanted to perform and that was always going be at some point. I felt like I was getting into it."

"I understand that Eddie Hearn, my promoter, might be looking in other directions. But I have to clear the slate. I must get the W over him.

"Especially after the second round, I sat down to say "this is mine for you to take". I could see it as an early night, but not in this type of situation.

"Weeks and weeks of promotion, all these people came out, and I can only apologize, we will have to our redemption."

Hearn stated that he feels the fight should have been continued for at most another round.

DAZN was told by him: "The second round, it became so exciting after the clash between heads because Lara feared his cut was opening.

"Josh Warrington understood that there would not be a decision if there were less than four rounds. I would have loved to seen at least one more round. Let me be real with you.

"The cut was horrible. It was not what I thought it was until he [Lara] returned to his corner. It felt to me that Lara was trying to get out of this fight.

"They called the doctor, but the cut was so severe that he couldn't continue, and unfortunately, he had to leave.

"The atmosphere was great, and the ring dance was the best I've ever seen. I would have liked to seen more rounds.

Josh is absolutely gutted that this has happened to him in a main-event. Although everyone had a great time, we wanted to see the fight unfold as it was set up to be a thrilling one.
