Eddie Hearn: Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua strike a undisputed blow. They will have a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, April 2022.

TYSON FURY has lost his hopes of being undisputed world heavyweight champion.

According to Eddie Hearn, the Gypsy King had hoped to fight Oleksandr Uzyk to unify the division. Instead, the Ukrainian will face Anthony Joshua during an April rematch.

AJ's Matchroom promoter stated that the pair would meet again in April

AJ was easily beaten by Usyk September, and had his WBA and WBO belts taken from him.

The Brit quickly activated a rematch clause, and Hearn, his promoter, said that it would be within the first few months in 2022 - despite AJ's talk of stepping aside.

The Matchroom chief stated to iFL TV, "We have to get together and agree on a date.

For that fight, April is realistic.

"AJ is the fighter who fights twice a year, but sometimes it feels like it would be nice if we could fight three times a year.

"We have received offers from all over the world, but I believe the UK will win that battle."

Fury has made Dillian Whyte mandatory to obtain Fury's WBC belt. Hearn said that this ended all talk of AJ stepping aside in order to allow Fury to meet Usyk next.

According to the 42-year old, who is from Essex, he added that "We need to sit down [with Usyk's Manager] Alex Krassyuk.

"We'll get Christmas out the way, and we'll move forward with that because it is time to plan.

"Obviously there were some discussions about step asides or other fights, so we'll just have to wait and see.

"But this looks unlikely now due to the Whyte situation which AJ is happy about.

"He wouldn't have those conversations unless I gave them to him.

"So, if that's not true, he continues with what he wants: the Usyk Rematch.

"Once the Whyte fight had been called, really, he came into that situation, and he has to be respected in that particular situation as well."
