After much anticipation, the long-awaited showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder is finally set to be finalized in the next "three weeks," according to AJ promoter Eddie Hearn.
Negotiations in Progress
The negotiations for this grudge match began after Joshua's scrappy win over Jermaine Franklin in April and have been heating up since his victory over Robert Helenius earlier this month.

Expectations for a Timeline
Eddie Hearn expects these negotiations to come to a head very soon, stating, "Two or three weeks" when asked about a timeline during an interview with Fight Hub TV.
The Only Way It Doesn't Happen
Hearn revealed that the only thing that could derail this fight is if Saudi Arabia fails to deliver. However, according to him, both Shelly Finkel (Wilder's manager) and Wilder himself are on board.

Possible Date and Contingency Plan
The targeted date for this eagerly anticipated match is January; however, Hearn mentioned that if the fight falls through, Joshua could be back in the ring in December.
No Time for Pretense
Despite the contingency plan, Hearn made it clear that all their efforts have been focused on making the Joshua vs Wilder fight happen. He stated, "That is the fight we want. It’s a massive fight, massive money, and that is what I have been instructed to deliver for AJ."

A Positive Outlook
Eddie Hearn is positive about the outcome, emphasizing that they are fully committed to this fight and are ready to sign a contract to make it a reality.
