Eddie Hearn welcomes Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou fight as "exciting nonsense", while he focuses his attention on Dillian Whyte clash

Eddie Hearn says that TYSON FURY's bid to face UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a fight is 'exciting nonsense.

The Matchroom boss would rather see the 33-year old WBC king face off against Dillian Whyte, a mandatory challenger, or Anthony Joshua, a former unified champ.

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Boxing promoter, laughed at the idea of the pair meeting.

The Gypsy King, however, has been enjoying calling out the Cameroon knockout sensation via Twitter.

The undefeated 6ft 9in superstar offered to fight The Predator using boxing rules, but with UFC's dangerous 4oz gloves.

Ngannou responded with an invitation to the Octagon with standard boxing gloves.

Hearn would prefer Fury to handle the serious business of negotiating a deal with Whyte, but is still enjoying the show.

After launching DAZN and his stacked start to 2022, he stated that he thought it was nonsense but it was all good.

"Anything that gets people talking, is good.

It is very exciting to imagine Tyson Fury facing Francis Ngannou in either a ring, cage or anywhere else. It is unlikely, however.

"Anything like this drives fan engagement which is good for Tyson, Francis Ngannou and boxing as well as the UFC.

"Anything that gets people talking about it is good news."

Whyte is furious at the WBC for ordering him to accept only 20% of the purse for Fury's potential fight, considering he is their interim champion.

Hearn anticipates Tuesday's purse bids will be pushed back in order to help all parties reach an agreement. He also confirms that the ever bullish Whyte, who has been the sanctioning agency's No1 contender from 2017, has been drained of frustration.

He stated that they had exchanged a few messages earlier in the week, and Dillian doesn't like to be manipulated.

"I would also be tired if I were Dillian Whyte. But I think his team has done an excellent job in protecting him from a lot.

Dillian Whyte is Tyson Fury's mandatory challenger in the WBC heavyweight title.

"His legal and management team put in so much effort to get Dillian what she deserves, and many people would have quit long ago.

"Sometimes these are a battle for endurance, because it is legal letter after legal letter, case after instance, petitions, and just endless work.

"But they won't give up, and they will continue fighting for what Dillian Whyte should have."
