BOXER Edgar Berlanga will be subject to a $10,000 fine and six-month ban for biting Alexis Angulo.
25-year-old Brooklyn-based star attempted to chomp during Saturday's super middleweight match against Angulo at Madison Square Garden.

He won the fight unanimously and extended his unbeaten record at 20-0.
Berlanga appears to be set for a prolonged period without the ring, and $10k in his pocket after his mad moment.
The incident in the seventh round, which was not noticed by the referee, was captured by television cameras as the pair fought in New York.
After the fight, Berlanga admitted to trying to "do Mike Tyson" against his opponent. However, Angulo was using his elbows.

ESPN reported that he said: "He was throwing his elbows. He was just about to do a Mike Tyson.
"He just kept pushing it out and throwing his elbows." "I didn't want my hair cut."
Berlanga's excuse does not seem to have been received well by the New York State Athletic Commission.
According to reports, he was given a $10,000 fine and a six-month fighting ban.
Berlanga has since apologized for his actions, but he will not be eligible to fight again until December.
On Twitter, he wrote: "I am sorry for my actions and what you said yesterday about Mike Tyson's bite."
"I was caught up in the moment and got a little ahead. This doesn't negate the embarrassment I caused my team, [Top Rank], myself and many others.
"I was impulsive and I take full responsibility.
"Moving forward, my intention is to be more thoughtful and supportive in my behaviour. Once again, I do apologize."
Berlanga's attempted bite on his opponent failed to make contact with his ears properly, and he was criticized by all corners of boxing.
Lou DiBella, the promoter of this contest, wrote on Twitter that "If you bite your opponent as if you were a rabid animal you should be disqualified."
Trainer Teddy Atlas said: "Berlanga’s record is better than his fighting." "I'm returning to UFC fights."
