As he walked towards his dressing room, the Brit was captured by cameras. Some fans believed he was anxious.
One fan posted on social media, "He looks nervous!"
Another comment: "He doesn’t look confident."
A third person said that Joshua looked nervous and scared.
Joshua's nervous chewing may be a sign of trouble. This was prior to his first encounter with Usyk, which resulted in a crushing defeat.
The Ukrainian noticed AJ's bizarre antics and said he found it strange.
Usyk stated: "Ofcourse, me and my staff pay attention to this.
"They analyse and observe... I was surprised because the man was distracted chewing on his mouthguard as if he were.
"That's why it was so strange to me. Everyone behaves differently.
"But it doesn't bother me why it happens. It could be for internal reasons. "I don't want the reason to be thought about."
