The legendary five-weight world champion of the past would win many times and avoid unnecessary risk in the later part of his legendary career.
Floyd Mayweather used a safety-first approach during the last stages of his career
Brit Ashley Theophane says that this was not the case when he was training for fights.
He said that watching Floyd sparring is sometimes better than his fights during an appearance on The Life At The Top of The Game podcast.
"Because he has been in wars a lot of times. It's almost like there were fights in which I predicted Floyd would KO the guy.
"Sometimes it was strange for me, as in sparring where he would go into war. I thought he would KO me, like in the Guerrero fight.

"Because he sparred every day, and he was going at war with big men.
"Then, when he got to the fight he just floated around the ring box and box."
After seeing his sparring, Theophane and other Money Team members were confused by Mayweather’s safety-first approach.
He said, "It was always strange how Floyd would stand there and fight and just do it."

Mayweather, 45 years old, retired from professional boxing in August 2017, following a thrilling crossover fight with Conor McGregor, UFC star.
Money's pro-career ended with a TKO win in the 10th round over The Notorious, extending his record to 50-0.
Since his retirement, the Michigan mauler took part in two exhibition bouts. He fought alongside Tenshin Nasukawa (Japan kickboxer) and Logan Paul (Youtuber).
