Deontay Wilder's trainer, Malik Scott, has revealed that they are in talks to arrange a fight between Wilder and Francis Ngannou following Ngannou's sensational performance against Tyson Fury. Ngannou, a former UFC champion, recently made his professional boxing debut in Saudi Arabia and has expressed interest in continuing his boxing career.
Potential Boxing Bout
According to Scott, discussions with Ngannou are already underway: "We're already in communications about it. He's an option now, and we're going to see where things go."
Ngannou, who is 37 years old, had previously considered fighting Wilder before finalizing a deal with Fury. However, negotiations for a blockbuster fight between Wilder and Anthony Joshua have since cooled, making a potential matchup between Wilder and Ngannou more likely in the new year.
Potential MMA Bout
Interestingly, Wilder has also shown interest in transitioning to MMA. Ngannou, who recently signed with the Professional Fighters League, has expressed openness to a two-bout deal that would allow both fighters to compete in each other's respective sports.

Ngannou stated, "Deontay Wilder for a couple of months, for a little while now, has been training MMA. Because there is an option here...He's really serious about MMA and even to step in the octagon for MMA and MMA only."
While no official agreements have been made, the possibility of a boxing or MMA matchup between Ngannou and Wilder has generated significant excitement among combat sports fans.
