Ngannou Turns Down December Clash
Francis Ngannou has declined a fight with Anthony Joshua in order to shift his attention to a different opponent. The former UFC star made waves in his boxing debut by knocking down Tyson Fury, but controversially suffered a points loss in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Boxing Event in the Works
Saudi boxing organizers are still planning a major event before Christmas and have expressed interest in having Ngannou headline it. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, put forward the British boxer as a potential opponent for the ex-UFC champion.
Ngannou Prioritizes Fury Rematch
However, Ngannou has made it clear that he is more interested in a rematch with Fury. He is willing to wait until Fury's title unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk in February before considering other fights. Ngannou stated that his focus in boxing right now is solely on the rematch with Fury.
Four-Belt Unification Postponed
The promoters of both Fury and Usyk have confirmed that the highly anticipated four-belt heavyweight unification fight has been postponed until February.
