Frank Bruno, legendary boxer, tells Anthony Joshua to "give him a shout" and wishes to help Brits regain world titles

FRANK BRUNO has asked Anthony Joshua to "give him a phone call" so that he can help his Brit colleague regain the heavyweight crown.

Joshua, a former Olympic and world champion, has not been seen since September's brutal defeat by Oleksandr Usyk, the Ukrainian powerhouse.

AJ's defeat means that the super-fight fans had hoped for with Tyson Fury is now in jeopardy.

Bruno, however, won his world title at the fourth attempt and is now backing Joshua to recover. He believes he will eventually face Fury, 33.

SunSport reported that he said, "This isn’t the end” of his AJ story. Sometimes you have to lose in order to win. This is something I know better than anyone.

"Anthony needs to maintain a level head and work hard in order to come back.

"I believe he still has the fire in him and he'll be determined to prove some people wrong by coming back stronger.

"If I can assist in any way, I would love to. All he has to do is call me.

"AJ will also be looking to fight Tyson, and prove he is the best fighter in the universe -- but that won't come easy!"

After losing the WBA and IBF titles in September, AJ invoked his right for an immediate rematch.

Since then, he has been traveling to America in search of new coaches to help him build his team for his match with Usyk.

Joshua was shocked to lose to Andy Ruiz Jr. 32 in June 2019. Joshua also added Angel Fernandez and Joby Clayton to his team.

They also created a box-and-move game plan that saw AJ regain his belts, along with Rob McCracken as their head trainer.

However, those tactics proved to be his downfall against Usyk (34), so the former champion has sought guidance elsewhere.

Joshua traveled to the States to look into adding McCracken's coach to his team.

Despite Fury offering his services to AJ, no final decision has been reached.

Bruno spent the day in Las Vegas with Deontay Wilder, the Gypsy King's opponent, before he flew out to face him.

Fury called back to wish his friend well as he turned 60.

Bruno stated: "I received a video message.

"I believe Tyson has been enjoying himself and relaxing since his Wilder fight.

"But good fortune to him, he should get a break. Tyson will not be able to sit still for too long. "He's not that kind of guy."
