According to the Ukrainian promoter, TYSON FURY won an undisputed fight against Oleksandr Uzyk.
As they prepared to pay Anthony Joshua's and Dillian Whyte their step-off fees, the Gypsy King was in negotiations to face the former undisputed champion cruiserweight.
Three of the four titles for world heavyweight
are currently held by Usyk
Eddie Hearn promotes Joshua and Whyte. Usyk's representatives claim Fury scuppered this deal.
Hearn spoke to iFL TV to discuss the situation and said that Anthony Joshua stepped up in fight Oleksandr Uzyk.
"Not, 'Hang On, I'll just post a few Instagram posts pretending that I want to fight him.
"I spoke with Alex Krassyuk [Usyk’s promoter] last evening - they believe that Tyson Fury is the one who has sealed the fight against Usyk."
These comments by Hearn suggest that Joshua was willing to step aside in order to allow Fury-Usyk conflict.
After Frank Warren, the WBC champion's promoter, won the purse bid Friday, Fury looks poised to face Dillian Whyte as Fury's mandatory challenger.
Joshua can now rematch Usyk to try to regain the heavyweight belts that he lost last year at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Hearn also confirmed that the Fury-Whyte purse auction would take place before April 31st.
Usyk-Joshua II is expected to be there in May.
Hearn stated that if we win the purse, the date we must fight by is April 29,
"So we must fight that battle by then. That's Fury against Whyte.
