Foreman, a former world champion, claims that the pair are trying to extort his money

Foreman, a former world heavyweight champion, has released a statement in which he promises to expose the women in court.

He stated that he would clear his name from the accusations that he had abused the couple in the 1970s.

According to TMZ the women demanded $12.5million [PS10.5m] each from the 1968 Olympic gold medallist.

According to the news outlet, Foreman is likely to face a lawsuit in Los Angeles against him this week.

According to the lawsuit, the fathers of the accused had a friendship and working relationship with Foreman decades ago.

Foreman insists it is all a lie and that he will not succumb to their threats.

He released a statement on Wednesday stating that two women had been trying to extort million dollars from him and his family for the past six month.

"They falsely claim that I sexually assaulted them more than 45 years ago, in the 1970s.

"I categorically and adamantly deny these allegations."

"I take as much pride in my reputation as I do in my sports achievements, and I won't be intimidated with baseless threats or lies."

"I trust God and my faith are the only things that guide me.

"I will work with lawyers to expose my accusers' schemes and defend myself in court.

"I don’t pick fights but I don’t run from them."

Foreman's career spanned four decades, from 1969 to 1997. He won a staggering 76 of 81 fights. 68 of those victories were by knockout.

After defeating Michael Moorer in 1994 at the age 45 and 299, he is still the oldest world heavyweight champion.

In 2003, his outstanding career was recognized when he was inducted in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
