HAFTHOR BJORNSSON laughed that he's 'always hungry' having lost NINE STONE in his boxing journey.
While competing in strongman, Game of Thrones' star was as heavy as 32 STONE.
Hafthor Bjornsson joked that he's 'always hungry' after he had lost NINE STONE
Bjornsson weighed 23 stone for his final fight against Devon Larratt, an arm wrestler. This revealed his massive body transformation.
As part of his switch from heavyweight to boxing, the super-heavyweight had to drastically reduce his calories in order to fight Eddie Hall.
SunSport spoke with Bjornsson: "I train more in boxing than for strongman."
"I go to the gym more for the conditioning work. There's a lot of conditioning work.
"I box six times per week, sparring three days a weeks, and then I run five times a day.
"There are many training methods, but I only go to the gym two times per day. That's what you do so that's the most important difference.
"And the diet also, there are a few changes in diet, not eating nearly so much as I used to in strongman.
"It was all about eating every other two to three hours, large meals. But here, I'm almost always hungry, and would like to eat more.
"The biggest changes in these two sports are the diet and training."
Bjornsson (32), called Hall (33) in May 2020 after breaking the Brit's 501kg deadlift records.
Since then, they have lost weight and gotten gloves in preparation for what is being called "the heaviest ever boxing match".
Bjornsson is a Reign Total Body Fuel ambassador and has had three exhibition bouts to prepare for the March grudge match against Hall.
They were against Steven Ward, an Irish cruiserweight, 31; Simon Vallily (36); and Larratt (46).
Bjornsson, also known as "Thor", was shocked at his weight, but he doesn't expect to lose any weight.
He stated, "I was surprised at how light I was."
"I was 147kilos when I was at the weigh-ins, if I recall correctly, which is quite light in my opinion. But that's okay, it's completely fine.
"I believe that being around that level is good for me. I don't doubt I will lose more weight but you never know. I'm not too concerned about my weight.
"I'm trying to train as I do and if it means that I lose more weight, then so be it.
"But I don't think I will because I have lost a lot of weight."
