"He scares me" - Eddie Hearn is not going to tell Derek Chisora (37), to retire with Brit "fitter than ever".

EDDIE HEAR isn't going to tell Derek Chisora that he should retire.

The 37-year-old heavyweight veteran has refused to let go, despite three consecutive losses.

He will instead return to the ring on July 9, in a rematch with Kubrat Pulev's 2016 fight.

Chisora has had to brawl with opponents and throw tables at press conferences before. His camp has a number of highly experienced leaders.

Hearn, too, believes that the unpredictable Londoner has more to offer.

SunSport reported that he said: "There are a lot people around Derek Chisora who care about him - Tony Bellew and Anthony Joshua, David Coldwell and Don Charles.

Derek loves to fight, but he wants the best fights possible. Unfortunately, at that level you could lose or be knocked out.

"But I'm going to not tell Derek what to or not do. He scares me to death.

Chisora has not won in two years, but this is due to his passion for risky yet financially rewarding fights.

In 2020, he lost to Oleksandr Usyk (35), before succumbing to consecutive points defeats by Joseph Parker (30) last year.

He also suffered a setback in 2018, after being eliminated in round 11. However, he was ahead in the rematch against Dillian Whyte (34).

This leaves Chisora ready for more mega-fights, if he beats Pulev (41), at the O2 Arena, and returns to winning ways.

Hearn stated that: "Many people say, Chisora is fighting again, he has lost his last three."

"Yes, he lost twice to Joseph Parker, one could have gone either direction, and the other was against Oleksandr Uzyk.

"And by the by, he had lost to Dillian Whyte before that and was leading the fight going into round 11. He ended up being knocked out with a peach-of-a-left hook.

"But all these fights were competitive and all these fights were exciting and if he beats Pulev, which I believe he can, what will people say then?"
