EDDIE HEARN was well prepared for Josh Warrington’s critical comeback, after she looked like a prize penguin during Anthony Joshua's shocking first loss.

Matchroom boss Andy Ruiz chose AJ to make his American debut against Andy Ruiz June 2019, and AJ felt that the fashion faux pas was backfiring.

The Matchroom promoter claimed that it helped him prepare to lose to Josh Warrington to Mauricio Lara

Hearn and Warrington have been able to cope with the devastating blow against Mauricio Lara in February by using the long-distance back Watford's heavyweight king made and plan for the rebuild.

Warrington (30) has already expressed gratitude for Joshua's video call that helped him get out of his despair.

Hearn also shared his secrets to coping with life's challenges, ahead of Saturday’s rematch before 20,000 Headingley supporters.

Hearn recalled, "After selling old Madison Square Garden to AJ, that evening I decided to wear a bow tie and dinner suit.

"It was something I had never done before, but I decided it would be a good idea to do for AJ at a sold out MSG. Now I look at the photos and think, "What a f ****** tosser!"

"I walked all the way back to New York's Soho from the fight. At 3am, I ran into British fans looking for photos and answers. I wanted to be alone.

"But I learned how to deal with nights like Josh Warrington's loss by dealing with them.

"Josh’s was horrible because no one was there and that we heard everything. MSG was berserk so we didn't hear it.

"But the lows will hopefully lead to great highs, and when Josh wins Saturday we can hopefully look back on the last few months with a smile and say, "What a ride!"

After Warrington's tragic loss at Wembley Arena, which was silent and empty, Hearn reached to AJ and got the two fallen soldiers to talk war stories.

Hearn says that the chat helped him to get back on the path of redemption. Hearn also believes it helped AJ continue his learning process. Hearn predicts that AJ will reach out to the first bell again.

Hearn stated that Josh asked AJ if he would like to have a conversation because AJ was struggling.

"AJ struggled to overcome Ruiz's loss, and this made it even more devastating because it was a terrible defeat in an empty and silent arena.

“I had never asked AJ to do anything like that before but within an hour of swapping numbers AJ called him. I called to thank AJ but I think he enjoyed it.

“Both of their nights went wrong, after problems for both in their build-ups. But both took immediate rematches and got the wins.

“I am sure AJ will message him before the fight because you have to talk about these things.”
