Hearn Slams Deontay Wilder After Shocking Defeat to Joseph Parker

Eddie Hearn, the boxing promoter, did not hold back in his criticism of Deontay Wilder following his surprise loss to Joseph Parker. Hearn, who represents Anthony Joshua, was left feeling sickened by Wilder's lackluster performance, which cost him a potential £100 million payday.

Wilder's Lackluster Performance

Wilder, the former WBC heavyweight champion, was dominated by Parker throughout the entire fight. Despite a late surge in the 12th and final round, it was too little too late for Wilder as Parker had already secured victory with a unanimous decision.

Hearn's Harsh Words

Eddie Hearn did not hold back in his assessment of Wilder's performance. He stated, "I said in the build-up I don't rate him. Wilder had no idea, no clue. He lost every round, and he's there at the end putting his hand up saying he's won the fight. He's not right. That's the reality. It was the most one-sided heavyweight fight I've ever seen."

Impact on Anthony Joshua Fight

Wilder's defeat has thrown a wrench in the plans for a highly anticipated fight between him and Anthony Joshua. Hearn expressed his disappointment, saying, "It's ruined our plans. We've got to go back into the changing room and let Joshua know Wilder has just lost to Parker. The future is not Deontay Wilder."

Joseph Parker's Redemption

On the other hand, Joseph Parker's victory over Wilder has breathed new life into his career. This win marks his fourth consecutive victory since being knocked out by Joe Joyce. Parker expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "It was a dangerous and tough fight, but this is God's plan. I just want to get back to Samoa to see my wife and family."
