The 31-year old Prestonpans ace plays with scars from a terrible childhood accident that nearly killed him.

Catterall, 28, may not need any further warning about his foe's fearlessness. He might just be returning to the fairways and greens ahead of their all British battle.

He said, "My return to playing golf was great." "I was not very good at it, but I should be able hit Jack better than the ball!"

"After so many years of not playing, I knew it would take some getting use to but I never imagined I would be so bad. It was frustrating.

"It was a good start, but I didn't do well the next few holes. It must have been luck because everything went downhill after that.

"I used to play all of the time, a lot my friends play and there are many lovely courses in my region but it's nice having a hobby other than fighting. It's a nice change to the adrenaline rush of boxing.

"Golf is a great way to unwind, catch up with friends and enjoy a pleasant walk."

Catterall should be cautious if Taylor's tranquility is going to stop him from teeing on his head.

He laughed, "Nobody likes to be around me when I shank one." "I have been guilty a few times of smashing up the clubs and throwing them away."

Taylor holds all four major belts and the Ring Magazine strap in just 18 fights that were almost faultless.

The sum of his five previous opponents is a laughable 107-0, but he has overcome the tired boxing cliché of becoming a Champagne Charlie after so much success.

Josh Taylor is haunted by scars from a terrible childhood accident that nearly killed him.

He said, "That won't be me." "I'm a lightweight at the best of times. I can get two pints in, and I love everyone in the world.

"And now, after I have had a nice glass red wine, I am p ***** following a couple and heading for bed.

"I won't ever get too rich, I've done it the hard and will never get any more."

"First and foremost, my missus wouldn't let me change. My pals would always help me get back to earth. They will happily tell me when they become a d***head.
