"I love fast cars" - Floyd Mayweather, 44 years old, is moving into motorsport with his own NASCAR racing team.

Floyd Mayweather, a BOXING legend, is now moving into motorsport with the launch of his NASCAR racing team.

The Money Team Racing will be competing in the Daytona 500 in Florida this month.

Mayweather, 44, an unbeaten fighter, stated: "I love fast cars, and I love competing.

"It will be hard for NASCAR, but it is worth the effort."

The ex-five-division world champion took to Twitter to announce the new venture.

He uploaded a video showing the dazzling multicoloured car being unveiled. The caption was: "TMT AT DAYTONA 500-2022!" !"

Although Mayweather's plans to launch a NASCAR team have been in the works for years, they were previously delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kaz Grala, a driver, will now take the wheel of a yellow-red, purple-blue Chevrolet with the No50 for The Money Team emblem. This number is the same as Mayweather's 50-0 professional record.

Mayweather is correct about his new venture being difficult. His team aren't guaranteed a spot at the Daytona 500.

The charter required to qualify for automatic qualification is not available to the team.

Grala will need to prove himself to the 40 other teams that are expected to race on race day. There are 42 teams who hope to be there.

The team will be participating in at least four additional races after the Daytona 500, with the possibility of going to the track as many as 15 times.

After telling Mayweather to do the sport, William Auchmoody will assume the role of General Manager.

Auchmoody stated that Mayweather loves cars. I had the opportunity to meet him several years ago and we spoke about NASCAR.

"He began to watch it, and the next thing you know, he's in Las Vegas. We were discussing details about how it would be like to get involved with NASCAR."

Grala, Mayweather's driver, said that Floyd is here to win and that he believes that all those involved in the program are capable of making it happen.

"We are aware that we will need time to grow as a new organization, but we couldn't be happier to be part of building this team."

Mayweather is joined by Michael Jordan, a basketball great, and Pitbull, a music artist, to create their own NASCAR team.

Pitbull and UFC President Dana White recently signed a partnership agreement for Pitbull's Trackhouse Racing team.

Pit Viper, a sunglasses company, sponsors Mayweather's sponsorship.
