UMAR SADIQ, who suffered a traumatic brain injury two years ago, has now retired from boxing. He is fighting for fame in Hollywood.
In September 2020, Fedor Chudinov, a former world super-middleweight champion, defeated the Brit in 12 rounds.

In his 2020 fight against Fedor Chudinov, the Brit was subject to a terrible brain injury.
Sadiq was hospitalized after "coughing up blood".
Sadiq quit boxing to make it in Hollywood
Sadiq was admitted to hospital after suffering a subdural hemomatoma, a brain injury, during his brief encounter with the Russian.
The 34-year old survived the ordeal and continued boxing against the British Board of Boxing Control's wishes. However, he has since given up on his gloves to punch his way to Hollywood.
Sadiq, who lives in Los Angeles with his family, said to Boxing Social that he has achieved amazing results in the very short time he's been doing this. October 2021 was the day I made the decision to become an actor.
"I am a student full-time at two acting schools.
"I have since then made three short films, one of them I co-produced. I've done two plays. I have signed with an agent to do commercials and print.
"I have had tons of headshots taken. I have done more than 90 auditions. My work rate is high, but it's a lot due to boxing.
Sadiq posted on Twitter that he was going to crack Hollywood, writing: "I suffered a subdural hemorhage (blood between the brain's outermost covering and its innermost covering)."
"Medical professionals tells me that I am lucky to be healthy.
"So, I decided to fully lean into my childhood dreams, stepping out the boxing ring into the stage and becoming an actor."
Sadiq made his professional debut in 2017, and won 11 of his 13 pro bouts. His only defeats came at the hands Zak Chelli (and Chudinov).
Sadiq is not regretful about the fight.
He stated that he couldn't pass up the chance to fight Chudinov, especially since it was someone I felt was being beaten. However, the fight was confirmed only seven days prior.
"I needed visas to travel to Russia. It was a great fight and a great performance. It was stopped by Ref in the 12th round, and rightfully so.
Sadiq was a boxer at heart, but he is happy to pursue his dream of acting.
He stated, "[I] had to] decide whether I wanted to risk my life or live as a vegetable just for boxing or if my life is full of other pursuits."
"I have always wanted to be an actor since I was a teenager.
"This is my life right now. Acting jobs are available all day. I audition for and take lessons at acting schools. It's the most important thing.
