IBF Orders Eliminator
The IBF has ordered a heavyweight eliminator, potentially pushing back a rematch between Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua. Dubois defended his IBF heavyweight title with a knockout victory over Joshua last month.
Challengers Named
Martin Bakole and Agit Kabayel have been ordered to face off in the eliminator. Kabayel, who is unbeaten in 25 fights, dominated the fight after landing a huge blow on Joshua in the first round.
Rematch Uncertain
While Joshua aims to return to the ring for a rematch, the IBF's order could delay the highly anticipated Dubois vs Joshua 2. The fight between Bakole and Kabayel may take place before the end of the year, but 2025 seems more likely.
Joshua's Future
Despite suggestions that Joshua should retire after his loss to Dubois, the British boxer, 34, plans to continue fighting. Promoter Eddie Hearn hinted at a decision being made in the next couple of weeks regarding a potential rematch.
