River began by throwing punches at Hatton's hands before he dropped him to the ground with a blow in the face.

Hatton captioned the post with: "Lovely few minutes spent yesterday with this young man."

River, 7 years old, is in constant chemotherapy and he fights every day. Despite that, his love and positivity just pours out.

Hatton will make a spectacular return to the ring in 2012, after he had to hang up his gloves.

Harry Maguire, United's skipper, was also inspired by River and dedicated his goal against Leeds on Saturday to the brave child.

After helping the Red Devils win 4-2 at Elland Road, the defender tweeted: "That was for River."

Maguire met River recently and had a great time playing football with him before giving him some Man Utd goodies.

River is a Midlands Wolves supporter, but was in Manchester for treatment.

Jack Grealish and Cristiano Ronaldo were also among those who met him and sent encouraging messages to him.
