"It could cause a cardiac arrest" - Tommy Fury's doctor said that if he faced Jake Paul with broken bones, he would be at risk of death.

TOMMY FURRY'S doctor Usman Sajjad claimed that the boxer could have suffered a cardiac arrest if he didn't withdraw from his bout against Jake Paul.

Due to a severe chest infection, and a broken rib, the Love Island star pulled out of his fight against American YouTuber later in the month.

Paul, an American YouTuber, has taken aim at Love Island's star after he quit their contest.

Paul later called TNT an "embarrassment" and stated that TNT's 22-year-old victim cracked under the pressure of facing him.

The Problem Child, 24, thinks that the British light-heavyweight may be'scared of' settling their differences within the squared circle.

Sajjad, however, insists that Fury was trying to outwit the former Disney actor and holds responsibility for the fight never taking place.

Fury has also stated that he will be out of boxing for 12 weeks while he recovers from what could have been a medical emergency.

He posted his Instagram story and said that he had suffered from a chest infection the previous week. He received the appropriate treatment, including antibiotics and other medications.

He was still coughing, and it got worse. I checked him on Thursdays and then we did a strength-and-conditioning session, where he was fine.

He said that there was no tenderness in the sixth or seventh region of his ribs. Then he had a sparring lesson the next Monday. His dad asked me to assess him after a difficult sparring session.

"So I go there, and although there is some swelling and tenderness there, I didn't think there was a fracture. He was also in great pain.

He said that he felt it best to take a break from training. However, he reported that his symptoms had worsened over the next few days and that he was vomiting more.

He was able to have a private MRI on Thursday. It showed multiple fractures and cartilage damage in the sixth, seventh, and ninth ribs.

He said, "Tommy was desperate to fight." He suggested that he would give him an injection once a week. But I was forced to tell him, "no, this could be life-threatening."

"There was a possibility of Pneumothorax (collapsed lungs) if you were tapped during training or fight. This is a medical emergency.

"You might feel short of breath, which could cause a cardiac arrest.

"Tommy was obsessed with fighting. You need to realize these fighters don't have robots. I'd rather enter the ring without a broken rib than with a broken hand.

"I accept 100 percent responsibility for pulling him out, and I know his dad does the same.

"We decided as a team. I presented my medical report and the scan findings, and his dad pulled him out."

He said, "Good luck Jake Paul, but we're looking at a 12-week rehabilitation."
