It also set the stage for the massive celebrity grudge match, which was scheduled for December 18, in Florida.

Fury was forced to withdraw this week due to a chest infection and a broken rib. Woodley signed his replacement.

Paul, 24, was the ex-UFC champion and had been lobbying for a rematch so he accepted the late-notice opportunity.

Woodley, 39 years old, stated that he had been training for the fight and knew that he would be fighting him four times next year.

"I was already battle-ready for a fight on January 1. It took me only 20 seconds to agree and we are now here.

"Things happened as they were supposed to. This is the fight that should've taken place anyway.

"More people were excited about this fight. These things happen for reasons.

"Very few occasions do you have the chance to go back in time and redo something you've already done."

"You sometimes regret how a fight went, and now you have the chance to make amends. This is what drives me."

Paul beat YouTuber "AnEsonGib", ex-NBA star Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37).

His biggest win was against Woodley, an ex-UFC champion.

Fury, 22 years old, was to be his first opponent. He had no prior experience in the workplace before the Brit withdrew.

It has also given Woodley the opportunity to redeem himself after he failed to complete the job the first time.

He stated that Jake could walk around saying that he beat him.

"So, I'm going make it clear that my fighter is the better one. I will be the better-conditioned fighter in this fight.

"You won't know who has spent so much time getting ready for this match-up. It was the same as the first time.

"I was walking him down, and then I put him against the ropes. He was puffing and huffing. It will be the same again.
