JAKE PAUL claims Floyd Mayweather attempted to kill him behind the scenes by 'gangsters' following their 'gotcha-hat' brawl.

Paul stole the cap of boxing legend Boxing Hall of Famer, May. This sparked a massive brawl that also involved Logan, his brother who was due to face Mayweather one month later.

Mayweather became angry after the prank, and backstage footage captured him shouting, "I'll kill this motherf***er!"

Paul claims that his life was in danger after the incident. His security team had warned him of an attack.

On the Full Send podcast, he said: "He was trying get me killed behind-the scenes for certain."

"He called like the Gangsters, because we were here in Miami at the time.

"He was calling the street people, because my security is tapped into the street people.

"And they were like: "Yo, you guys have to be f***ing cautious, he's trying do something."

In their Miami exhibition bout, Mayweather, 44, went eight rounds with Logan, 26.

Jake's viral video of him grabbing the cap and boasting "gotcha hat" is still one of the most talked-about moments in the rivalry.

He believes that it has riled Mayweather like nothing else.

Paul, 24 years old, said that he and his brother came in looking like young trolls. They don't care a f ***.

"And we're like making this old man look really stupid, and we legitimately hurt people's feelings."

"That's exactly what happened. That's why he became so mad. We hurt his feelings, his hair was all f***ed-up and made him look stupid overall.

"And no one has ever really been there and really hurt his feelings."

Although Mayweather has not yet responded to the claims of plotting revenge against Paul's, Logan at the time publicly acknowledged his concerns for their safety.

He said to TMZ Sports, "Floyd has threatened to kill me brother."

"So, we take security precautions. We have security everywhere, it's more than we ever expected.

"When Floyd Mayweather is a man with the connections and the network, the guy has the resources and wealth to make it happen.

"And he's saying things like 'I'm going kill that motherf***er'. You go 'Kill? Death? My brother is going to be killed over a f***ing headband?

"Yeah, that's a serious matter man."
