JAKE PUL was one of many boxers who attacked Teofimo Lopez. The former lightweight champion claimed he had easily defeated George Kambosos Jr.
After losing a split decision to his Australian opponent in 12-round combat, the Brooklyn native had his WBA and WBO, IBF, and Ring belts taken away in New York.
Jake Paul mocked Teofimo Lopez, his American compatriot, following his defeat by George Kambosos Jr.
Lopez was floored in three minutes after predicting that he would defeat Kambosos Jr.
He did however manage to send the 28 year-old to the ground in the tenth round, with a brutal overhand right.
It was too late for Lopez, who was defeated to the punch throughout the fight. Kambosos Jr was awarded the win.
He claimed he had won the fight, which led to his fans cheering and then insisting that he had won rounds 10-2.
Lopez commented: "He's quite a fighter but I won tonight. Everyone knows that."
"The referee raised his hand. I won tonight, no matter what anyone says. I would like to thank everyone who came out tonight. I am not a loser. I take my wins as seriously as I take my losses.
"At the end, I'm a champion. I did what I had the ability to do and went out there and tried my best. I don't care about what anyone says. I'm as real as they come. This is the takeover man. We don't stop coming, we just keep going."
Before you add: "At night's end, I scored it 11-2-10-2."
His comments made it clear that the boxing world was not happy. Paul, a YouTuber turned fighter, posted a photo of Lopez on the deck to his Instagram story.
He captioned the photo with a speech bubble above Lopez's head and said, "I'm certain winning this fight."
Jamel Herring, a former super-featherweight king, tweeted: "Teo you my guy. But let my man enjoy his moment." "Bounce back and be stronger."
Claressa Shields, a two-time Olympic champion and supreme middleweight fighter, posted: "Champions take loss really hard .... This isn't it.
It's hard to lose .... It's hard to lose, but it's just a matter of shaking hands, congratulating the other fighter and going back to the drawing boards.
Lopez's lightweight opponent Devin Haney said: "Oh yes Teo has gone insane... I told you all this already."
Dan Rafael, a boxing reporter, commented that Lopez rants that he won the fight 10-2. He's not living in reality.
Fellow boxing journalist Jeandra Lebeauf said: "Oh Teo, come on man. Keep pushing and shake hands with the man.
Sometimes you just need to hold your L. Teo is now in the position Loma was in, holding his L.
Manny Pacquiao, a Filipino legend, was full of praise for Kambosos Jr. who increased his perfect record by 20-0.
He tweeted: "Congratulations my friend George Keambosos Jr on an incredible win!"
"You helped me in so much of my past fights. I hope that our hundreds of rounds sparring helped you in any way tonight. You are a proud man.
