Jake Paul admitted that he was second-best when he sparred Hasim Raman Jr. in 2020
The pair will face off at Madison Square Garden, August 6,
After sparring in 2020 training, Paul has a good understanding of Rahman.
Paul spoke out about Rahman's session and said that Rahman won the battle after they had gone to "war" at the gym.
ESPN's Paul said: "It wasn't a war. He is very, very talented. He is very strong and hits very hard.
"If anything, he got the better me in the sparring sessions - but that was two year ago."
Paul believes he's made great strides as a fighter since their sparring days, so he is confident he will win this fight.
He said, "I believe that in the past two year that I've worked more than him and that's where my confidence comes from. I now think I can beat him."
Paul is now focusing on the light-heavyweight titles in the world despite only five professional fights.
He stated, "My goal in light-heavyweight is to become the champion of the world in 3-4 years and fight the best in the sport."
"So I'm going on to continue my progress and fight harder each time. That's all I have done.
"So, the celebrity and basketball stuff that was in the past is gone."
