It was scored by the judges 77-75 and 79-74 in Paul's favor.
Woodley furming afterward and blasting one judge for giving him only two rounds of furming as 'laughable.
However, the statistics tell a completely different story.
Paul landed 30% of his 122 jabs, compared to Woodley's 23% of the 48 he threw.
Woodley was able to land 41 of the 115 power shot he threw, which was 36%.
Paul managed to throw only 35 of 85 balls, but was much more precise with a 41% success rate.
Paul, an Ohio man, landed 71 out of the 207 punches (34%) while Woodley was successful with 53 of the 163 attempts (32%)
Paul took 71 body shots, while Woodley only landed six.
Paul suggested that despite his win, he might take some time off from boxing to "chill" and "figure out who is he".
Paul answered a question after the contest and said, "Honestly, we'll just see." I have been boxing for 18 month now.
"I haven’t been to the dentist in two years, and I have barely had my hair cut in the past two years.
"My nose is crooked and my teeth are crooked," This is what I have devoted the past 18 months to. I haven’t stopped.
"I think I may need to take a moment to relax and discover who I really am. Although I am only 24 years old, I am still growing and learning.
"I'm experiencing ups and downs, and I make mistakes. But I keep my head straight, and we'll all see.
Woodley requested a rematch, claiming that he had won the fight.
Former MMA star slammed: "I feel that if that was second largest pay-per-view then round two will be bigger than that."
"I feel like I won this fight. Jake is a great opponent. This is why I am in such great shape.
"It is absurd that one judge gave me two rounds. No offense, but I think Jake and Tommy Fury need to fight that.
