Jake Paul was refused permission to fight MMA fighters following the cancellation of Tommy Fury clash with Hasim Rahman Jr.

JAKE Paul claims that the New York State Athletic Commission denied him permission to fight a number of big-name MMA fighters as a replacement for Tommy Fury.

After his bout with the Brit, Hasim Rahman Sr was cancelled and he will now face Hasim Rahman Sr at Madison Square Garden on August 6.

After Tommy Fury pulled out, The Problem Child needed another opponent.

25-year-old Paul has competed in Florida, Georgia, and Cleveland on three previous outings. All of these states have more relaxed commissions than New York.

In his second pro fight, The Problem Child beat Nate Robinson to death. This led to increased scrutiny of novice fighters in the ring.

As he tried to fill the void left behind by Fury, he said that he had not been able to face many MMA stars before his bout with the 12-1 heavyweight pro-boxer.

Morning Kombat asked him about the involvement of the Athletic Commission in his selection of his opponent. He said that they drove it a lot.

They wouldn't approve of certain names, mostly MMA fighters. We were then like, "alright, we need a pro boxer."

"But it was reversed, because they were like "we don't know how we're going approve Jake for that".

They were exactly like everyone else, and this fight is high-risk. This is crazy, this is psychotic. No boxer would take such a risk so early in their careers.

Rahman accused Paul of being "SCARED" that he would fight him at heavyweight because he had included a clause regarding hydration in their contract.

Rahman agreed to fight Paul with a month's notice, at the 200lb limit for cruiserweights of 14st 4lb.

The American must lose almost TWO TONS since he weighed 224lb last April before he can reach the scales on Aug 5.

Paul also added a clause requiring Rahman to hydrate so that Rahman can not exceed 215lb at a second-day weigh in.

Hasim Sr's son isn't restricted in the weight at which he enters the ring, but he slammed it.

SunSport's Rahman, 31, said that Jake is scared. If he wasn't, he would have fought him at heavyweight. It was especially surprising that it was so late in the game.

He wouldn't have tried and drained me to 200lb and cheated me to under 210lb. They did just that.

"Then they gave me a contract. You'll never get another chance to fight Jake Paul if you refuse to take it.

Jake Paul is the man that every boxer wants to fight. Everybody wants to beat this guy up. "So, I accepted it."
