Joe Joyce changes his mind about Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight prediction, having previously shared the ring with both heavyweights

JOE JOYCE made a U turn in his Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight prediction.

The British heavyweights are close to a deal at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on December 3.

Joyce is an expert on the subject, having sparred with the pair in the past. Joyce also favoured Joshua, 32, a former Team GB training partner.

His prediction was changed after a public dispute with AJ that coincided with two losses for Oleksandr Usyk (35).

Joyce, 36, said to talkSPORT that she originally believed AJ would run the business, but now, Fury is my preference.

"Just because of his fighting ability. It's still a great fight, and Joshua has the puncher's chance as always.

"He has very destructive punching power, and if he goes to the offensive it will be an exciting fight.

Fury is the only one who can decide. He can box on his back foot and switch. Joshua can't stop him if he attacks him."

Fury, 34 years old, was surprised to turn his attention to Joshua after Usyk declared himself ineligible for an undisputed bout to treat an injury.

AJ has now agreed to a 60/40 split in order to have a shot at the WBC title. Official paperwork will be sent to him.

Frank Warren, Fury's promoter, said that "The contracts were on their way."

"But I won't go into too much detail because we saw last year what happened with people making statements, and it all went sour.

"This fight will not be on until it is signed, but everyone wants it to happen.

"There are no obstacles in our way so we hope very quickly that it can be over the line. But until it's signed, it's not on.

"If you are a promoter, then you are an optimist." This is what you do. We're all in the business of making events happen.

"I'm excited about this fight because I have always felt that Tyson beat AJ. Now we'll find out if it's possible to win."
