Flynn now possesses a 9-0 record, and is keen to fight again soon

Flynn’s fight against Baker was one of the best of the night, and he was praised by almost all in the boxing world, including Joshua himself and promoter Eddie Hearn.

Following his statement victory, he has revealed to SunSport what his next plans are, and what life has been like after announcing himself to the world on the big stage.

He said: “It’s time for a weeks rest.

“I’m going to Tenerife for a week of sun and recovery and then it will be back to Sheffield for training before I hopefully fight again in June.

“There is no opponent yet, but I want to get myself a rival, I need a rivalry in the sport.”

The 27-year-old is signed to Anthony Joshua‘s 258 Management, who are expertly handling the careers of Brit prospects Ben Whittaker and Campbell Hatton.

And despite his now 9-0 record, this was the first time he really had the opportunity to announce himself as one of the best up and comers in the sport.

He added: “It felt good to be on the big stage, I felt like I was meant to be there even though it was such a big event.

“I spoke to AJ just before his fight, he was congratulating me but also in the zone and ready for his battle with Franklin, no doubt I’ll be speaking to him properly this week.

“It is great to have such a good team, Freddie Cunningham and the guys were saying what a good fight it was.

“Eddie Hearn was retweeting loads of stuff about it – he came up to me and said he was proud of me and how entertaining I am to watch, a lot of people were saying it was worthy of being a co-main event!”

And one money-spinning fight Flynn would be up for is a dust-up with YouTuber KSI.

Asked about the rise of influencer boxing, he said: “I think it is good because it brings different eyes to the sport. But it should be separate to professional boxing.

“Still I would happily beat one of these guys up for good money, it would be an easy fight.

“If any of them want it, they can get it, let them know. If KSI wanted it I would smash him up.”
