Jorge Masvidal warns Jake Paul that he will fight Tyron Woodley in a completely different way as UFC star opens the door to bout

JORGE MASVIDAL warned that a fight against Jake Paul would be "completely different" to Tyron Woodley's.

Paul beat Woodley on points in August, but Woodley lost the rematch four years later.

After the brutal KO, Masvidal was called out by the YouTuber-turned prizefighter.

Masvidal, 37 was present at the ringside and commended Paul for his win. However, he told him that he expected a different outcome if they split the ring.

On Paul's brother Logan’s podcast, he said: "Woodley also a fighter that's very beneficial for him to fight.

"Woodley fights on spots, Woodley isn't crazy aggressive, he will explode on you with one great shot.

It would work in MMA, but it wouldn't in boxing. If you only have a strong right hand, you can see the potential. I just gotta keep my hands up.

"I don’t have to worry about taking down or getting a leg kick. I can just [cover up]. I don't fight like this.

"I use both my hands a lot so it would be a totally different fight with me."

Paul, 25, defeated Ben Askren (37-year-old UFC welterweight) in March 2021, before his victories over Woodley.

Masvidal, who was able to help Askren train for the fight after he received a 2019 flying knee in five seconds, left Askren cold.

However, Paul chose Woodley, his former training partner, to defeat him. The relationship fell apart.

Masvidal is currently contracted to the UFC. Unless granted special permission, Masvidal cannot compete outside of the promotion.

Conor McGregor (33), was given the green light in 2017 to fight Floyd Mayweather (45), in a cross-over fight that is believed to have grossed around PS600m.

Masvidal is hopeful of a similar exemption from UFC if it makes financial sense.

He stated, "We are locked up until it makes any sense to us."

"If they said that F ***, the fight would generate us XYZ Dollars, then let's do this. "We'll charge a fee for it."
