Joseph Parker insists that he will never fight Tyson Fury, despite New Zealander close to title shot

JOSEPH PARKER insists that he will never fight Tyson Fury, his training partner, despite his desire to be a two-time heavyweight champion.

Fury has had the former WBO titleholder as one of his main training partners in Morecambe for the past few months.

The New Zealander would give up his ambitions to become a two-time heavyweight champion if it meant that he had to face his friend.

He said that they have a great relationship during a talkSPORT appearance. His whole family takes care of me, he treats me like a younger brother.

I have now settled in Morecambe. I've stayed at his house and use his gym.

"I don't think I can ever fight him. "I'll let him do what he wants and fight all the rest."

Parker, 30 years old, would rather compete for one of the belts if Fury offered him the chance to fight for the WBC strap.

He stated, "I'll take a different path and try my best to win other belts if possible."

After his unanimous victory over Derek Chisora, Parker is back in full training.

Fury is also getting help from the Kiwi killer to prepare for his second defense of the WBC strap

He stated, "I'm back in training, back into camp with Tyson."

"We have Sonny Bill Williams training for his fight. David Nyika is back on board. It's great that we are back training."

Fury, 33 years old, intends to defend his title March 26, but a deal to challenge mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte is not yet in place.

Bob Arum, the co-promoter, suggested that The Gypsy King might face Oleksandr Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion.

The 90-year old said during a talkSPORT appearance: "It's total chaos.

"What's happening are just promises from the Middle East about doing an unified fight against Usyk, Fury, and is Dillian whyte going to step aside.

"And people who have no contractual ties – like Frank Warren's Queensberry or our Top Rank - are getting involved.

"It's a terrible situation. But hopefully it'll be sorted out. Most likely it will get sorted with a purse offer on Friday."
