Josh Taylor is furious at the 'disrespectful P4P rankings, as he was named fourth best Brit after Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua

JOSH TAYLOR has slammed BoxRec's ranking of the best British fighters and called it 'disrespectful.

According to the boxing website, Callum Smith was ranked fourth on their list of champion light-welterweights behind Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Scot, 31, couldn't help but feel dismay at his place on the list.

The Tartan Tornado also tweeted "Number 4?" ?

"What else do I need to do to earn some respect?"

Taylor's inclusion in the list was quickly commented on by boxing fans, one of whom said: "This list seems ridiculous."

Another commented: "How can AJ and Smith be above @JoshTaylorBoxer?"

Another said that Josh Taylor was the greatest fighter from the UK for more than a decade.

"It is sad that the UK boxing audience doesn't know this."

One commented, "Pound for pound Number 1 every day."

"Absolutely destroyed all who were in his path and took some big names along with him. Give him some respect.

Another voiced his opinion: "Ridiculous!"

Taylor was undisputed champion of light-welterweight last May after a unanimous victory over Jose Ramirez at Las Vegas.

Next month, the Prestonpans pounder will defend his belts against Jack Catterall in a Battle of Britain at Glasgow's Hydro Arena.
