KELL BROOK was able to save himself an incredible PS100,000. He made the catchweight limit for his domestic fight with Amir Khan, who he had been separated from after a fierce final confrontation.
The 35-year old couple weighed in before Saturday's Battle of Britain.
Kell Brook, a former IBF welterweight champion, weighed in at 148lbs
.
Brook, an ex-IBF welterweight king, weighed in UNDER to meet the 149 lb catchweight limit. He weighed in at a mean 148 lbs.
Special K would have sighed with relief knowing that he would be fined PS100K for gaining weight.
Khan quickly followed suit and reached the limit of 147lbs for the welterweight champion.
After the formalities were over, there was one last face-off. It didn't disappoint.
Khan was greeted by Brook, who roared in Khan’s face. However, Khan, a former champion of the unified light-welterweight division, remained calm, collected, and cool.
Khan smiled wryly on his face as security forced them to part ways.
Sky Sports interviewed neither man after the successful weigh-ins. This was much to the dismay of those present.
SunSport believes that the British Boxing Board of Control was involved in the decision after the humiliation caused by the previous day’s shenanigans.
Brook spoke backstage however, and said he was not worried about losing weight.
Sky Sports interviewed him: "I was half a pound under, but I have been doing the right weight, as I have always told everyone.
"The weight was never going be a problem, because this fight is one I can win easily.
"Now that I have lost the weight, I can refuel so I am calm, collected and able to sleep at night.
"I must stick to my game plan and do my job." "I am firing on all cylinders."
