UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov declined a $100million deal to face Floyd Mayweather, and told Mike Tyson that he would never fight for money.
Nurmagomedov was defeated in October by Abdulmanap, his father and mentor who died in July.
Khabib claimed he turned down $100m in order to fight Floyd Mayweather
Since then, he has rescinded a UFC return and even the huge purse to face boxing legend Mayweather from the Middle East.
Nurmagomedov, the former champion UFC lightweight, suggested that no amount of money would be able to reward him back.
Tyson said it on Tyson's podcast, "I don’t want to make the boxing community upset."
"Of course, money is also sensible. But I never fight for money. Money can be good, but it can also be bad.
"Money puts you in a situation you've never been before, and you don’t know what to do with it.
It is risky. This business is not for me to make money. I'm here to leave a legacy."
Nurmagomedov, 32 years old, took off the gloves right after beating Justin Gaethje (also 32), and told his mother.
A lucrative deal has been made to the Russian star in order for him to fight Georges St-Pierre (40), who was his father’s dream fight.
Khabib could not be persuaded to change his mind by even this.
Mayweather, 44, was reported to have begun talks with Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. UFC president Dana White was also said to be available.
Abdelaziz told Tyson that $100 million was offered to him to fight Floyd Mayweather. Dana White was present, everyone was present.
"But, you should know that Khabib is an MMA fighter. Floyd could come to fight if he wanted.
After beating Conor McGregor (33) in an anti-contrarian fight White promoted, Mayweather, 44 was officially retired.
American legend has been back twice since then, in exhibition bouts against Tenshin Nasukawa, a featherweight kickboxer, and in 2018, against Tenshin Nasukawa, a featherweight kickboxer.
Surprisingly, he was able to come out of retirement and face Logan Paul (26), in a pay-per view spectacle. Logan Paul weighed TWO STONE MORE.
After Paul miraculously survived eight rounds, it ended without a winner. Nurmagomedov was unimpressed.
In June, he told Russian media: "What's the point? They made money, and they came out. It's business.
"There was no competition to it, Mayweather came out and they sparred, made money, - what more can you say?"
