Mike Tyson revealed his love of pigeons
Tyson was just ten years old when he lost Julius, a pigeon, in his first boxing match against Roy Jones Jr.
After the bird died, the 56-year old had to say farewell to it.
However, before Julius could have a proper memorial, a binman noticed him lying on his stomach in a crate. He then disposed of Julius.
He spoke to World Boxing Council and said: "One morning, I woke up to find my favorite pigeon, Julius had died. I was devastated, and decided to use his crate for my stickball bat in honor of him.
"I put the crate on the curb and went in to buy something. I came back to find the sanitation man had placed the crate in the crusher.
"I ran to him and caught him flushed on the temple with a titanic left hand. He was out cold."
Tyson also shared another story about a boy who confronted him, and brutally tore the head of a pigeon.
He said, "The guy ripped my pigeon's head off." The pigeon was the first thing that I loved in my entire life.
"I don’t know why. I feel absurd trying to explain it. The [Pigeons] look so much like humans.
