Nigel, a British boxing icon, has given his approval despite the close to ONE STONE difference in weight.
He tweeted: "This Conor wants, Conor won't be destroyed if he's made like that."
"Let's see what he does, I'm backing it, win or lose my friend."
Conor, 25, has never fought over the 10 t 7lb limit for welterweight.
Eubank Jr., 32, is a career heavyweight at 11st 6lb and has fought as high the 12st super-middleweight limit.
The pair is expected to meet in the middle at a catchweight of 11st 1lb, 156 lb.
Benn currently stands at 21-0 with 14 knockouts. He most recently defeated Chris van Heerden (35), to climb higher in the rankings.
Although Eubank Jr. beat Welshman Liam Williams (30) in February, he has not been able to secure a fight for a world championship.
It is now focusing on a blockbuster fight against Benn.
Before they met again in 1993, Eubank Sr beat Conor's father Nigel in 1990.
SunSport spoke to Nigel, a former two-weight champion who added speculation after he gave the go ahead for Eubank to fight him.
Colin Hart said that Conor would be going in with Eubank's boy. It is something I actually welcome.
"I'm familiar with the old saying that a big man can beat a small one, but it's an old-fashioned view.
"I moved up from middleweight to win a super-middleweight title in the world, and Chris Jr. did the same.
"Manny Pacquiao was crowned the world champion in eight weight categories, from flyweight to light-heavyweight. Canelo Alvarez began at welterweight and became the world light-heavyweight champion."
