Liam Smith has thrown some serious shade at Chris Eubank Jr in the build-up to their highly-anticipated rematch tonight. The bitter British rivals are set to face off at the Manchester Arena, just seven months after Smith's shocking knockout victory. Ahead of the fight, Smith boasted about his sparring sessions with amateurs and even claimed he played football the day after his previous win against Eubank.
Smith's Dominant Win
In their first fight, Smith knocked out Eubank in a stunning fashion, catching him in the corner and unleashing a barrage of shots. This resulted in Eubank hitting the canvas for the first time in his career. While Eubank managed to get back up, Smith sealed the deal by knocking him down again. Referee Victor Loughlin waved off the contest, much to Eubank's dismay.

Strong Words from Smith
Smith didn't hold back when discussing his previous victory over Eubank. He claimed that his sparring sessions with amateurs were tougher than the fight itself. Additionally, he stated that he had no marks on him and was so fresh that he played for his local Sunday football team the very next day.
Smith, 35, told Sky Sports Boxing, "I'll be honest with you, I've had harder spars with amateurs than what that fight was for me. The fight never got going. I'm not saying Chris was that bad, but the way the fight panned out was a bit of a chess match. And then the first time I got close, I landed a combination and he went over. I never got going, I never had a mark on me, I went to football the next day."
Eubank's Do or Die Mentality
On the other hand, Eubank is determined to bounce back from his defeat and make a statement in this rematch. He has admitted that this is a make-or-break moment in his career and outright refused to address the question of whether another loss would result in an early retirement.
When asked about the potential consequences of defeat, Eubank firmly stated, "We're not talking about that. Don't ask me questions like that."
