Move over Anthony Joshua, there's a new heavyweight force making waves in British boxing. Meet Moses Itauma, the 18-year-old knockout specialist who is taking the boxing world by storm. With an impressive record of 7-0, Itauma is quickly becoming a name to watch in the sport.
A Promising Start
Itauma's journey to the top began in the amateurs, where he established himself as a formidable opponent. Known for his devastating power and ability to stop opponents in their tracks, Itauma quickly caught the attention of boxing promoter Frank Warren.
Signing with Warren earlier this year, Itauma wasted no time in making his mark in the professional boxing scene. Five of his seven victories have come by way of knockout, showcasing his raw talent and determination.
Aiming for Greatness
But Itauma isn't satisfied with just a few wins under his belt. He has his sights set on a much bigger prize - a world heavyweight title. Inspired by the legendary Mike Tyson, who holds the record for becoming the youngest world heavyweight champion at the age of 20, Itauma is determined to achieve this feat even earlier.
With the current crop of world champions in their thirties, Itauma sees an opportunity to rise to the top. He firmly believes that he has what it takes to defeat anyone in his path and dominate the heavyweight division.
Advice from a Legend
Earlier this year, Itauma had the privilege of meeting his idol, Mike Tyson. The boxing legend offered him valuable advice about facing lower-caliber opponents.
Tyson emphasized that every fight is a quality fight, as anything can happen in the ring. He dispelled the notion of "bums" in boxing and highlighted the importance of hard work and dedication.
What's Next for Itauma?
Itauma's journey to greatness is far from over. With aspirations of fighting on the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk card in February, Itauma is eager to get back in the ring and continue his winning streak.
Will Moses Itauma fulfill his dream of becoming a world heavyweight champion? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure - this rising star is determined to leave a lasting impact on the sport of boxing.
