TYSON FURY revealed that he has sciatica, which can sometimes make it impossible for him to speak.
56-year-old former heavyweight world champion was seen in a wheelchair at the airport last month.
Mike Tyson has sciatica
Tyson was last month seen using a wheelchair as well as a walking stick.
Tyson explained that he also walks with the help of a wooden stick.
Iron Mike stated that sciatica is his only health problem. He also spoke out about the effects it has on his ability to function when there are flare-ups.
He stated, "I get sciatica from time to time. It flares up sometimes." It can cause severe pain and make it difficult to talk. It's my only health issue. I am now a shining star.
"Everybody in my home is truly blessed, and we are all extremely grateful for what we have."
Sciatica, a condition that causes nerve irritation, seems to be affecting Tyson’s back.
Tyson quit boxing in 2005 because of a back problem. He also suffered from a knee injury later in his career.
Tyson was able to return to the ring in 2020, to face Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout, despite the issue.
Recent concerns about Tyson's health have grown, partly due to his comments.
On his Hotboxin' podcast, he claimed that he believes that he will die "really soon".
He said, "We all will die one day." Suddenly, I can see the little marks on my face when I look into the mirror.
"I say, 'Wow. This means that my expiration date is approaching, very soon. '"
