MIKE TYSON believes social media sensation Jake Paul fooled boxers into believing he wasn't talented.
Despite only five professional fights, the YouTuber has been one of the most prominent names in the sport over the past two years.
Jake Paul's brief time as a professional boxer
has seen him ruffle many feathers.
,
Paul criticized Tyron Woodley, former UFC welterweight champion, in his last bout. However, he has not gained the respect of the boxing world.
Tyson, the former undisputed heavyweight champion, believes that The Problem Child has lied to people.
Former NFL star Shannon Sharpe said that he believed he should also fight a boxer. However, these men are so emotional that they want to fight him. They forget that he is a fighter.
"He's going make them believe they can beat this guy, because he's white and has blonde hair and blue eyes. Then they enter the ring and something else happens."
Tyson believes that Paul, the divisive and controversial boxer has given boxing an important boost by opening up new eyes to the sport.
He stated that "We created a genre, and now we have guys like Logan (Jake), Paul doing this stuff."
"I believe Logan (Jake), Paul is a great boxer.
"No boxer has ever brought so many people to the network as Logan (Jake). Paul did it and I think he is good for boxing. He brings money to boxing."
Paul, 25, has not fought since Woodley's viral KO. However, he is considering a September return to UFC.
During a recent appearance, he stated that "there's a lot happening in other aspects" of his life.
"I will be doing these press conferences in the next two weeks to promote Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. I am also very busy with my venture capital fund on the business side.
"So, I have not even been back to the gym or trained at all.
"I would suggest August-September, but I need to talk with my coaches. Perhaps later. It's something I'm working on.
"Obviously, if the stars align or I have a change in heart, then things could move around. But right now, I don't feel motivated to go back into another training camp.
