MIKE Tyson would devastate training partners in minutes, not for pleasure but to just get home to watch TV.
Tyson was known for repeatedly punching a fellow passenger aboard a plane, leaving him bloodied. He also turned a five-hour sparring session down to less than 60 minutes because he wanted to watch cartoons.
Tyson used to rush through his training to be able to watch Tom and Jerry
This is Tyson's confidante Rudy Gonzalez, an ex-bodyguard and chauffeur who was privy to fights at home during New Yorker's rise into infamy.
Gonzalez stated, "When we trained together in Vegas, our sparring sessions were between 12 and 5pm.
"He would have been the most polite guy before asking sparring partners: "How are you today? How's your family?"
"Then, he would knock out five men so that in an hour nobody was left.

"I watched him punch the heavy bags so hard that it broke several times from the chains. The other boxers would leave and say, 'we aren't f ****** today. I don't care what you pay me.
"Anyone who thought they were ready to take him on would be hit and they'd snap. They would soon pack their bags.
"So I asked my boss: "Boss, I'm confused. Isn't it about working on techniques?"
He replied, "If I keep it up, we will miss Tom and Jerry cartoons."

Tyson had Gonzalez by his side when he rose from being the most fearsome teenage boxer of all time to become the youngest ever heavyweight champion at age 20.
Cus D'Amato was Tyson's legal guardian. He had served time in juvenile prison.
His training was much more structured while he lived with D'Amato in his Catskills home.
D'Amato died months before Tyson was made heavyweight champion in 1986.
BUILDING A BOXING FRANKENSTEIN
Gonzalez stated that he was a great guy to work with. He had to get home at 9pm because he ran 10 miles each morning.
"His manager Jim Jacob, along with Kevin Rooney, the trainer, would ensure that I adhered to this training schedule.
Mike was very disciplined. He used to sit upstairs and study boxing films, analyzing how the different fighters move and hit.
Cus was infusing him with years of training. He loved the peek-a-boo technique. It felt so natural and clean. Cus created a boxing Frankenstein.
"Cus would repeatedly repeat to Mike, from the beginning: 'Does it matter that you're going be the heavyweight champion in the world someday?
"If you repeat it enough times, it will become a habit." If you believe it, you will have no doubt.
Gonzalez's book, The Inner Ring, about his Tyson experiences, is being made into an animated movie. He also said that Tyson was a terror to other staff members during his training.
Gonzalez's book about Tyson has been a major topic in the past. He blames Don King, the promoter of Tyson, for many of the star’s problems.
King, he claims, 'psychologically broken him'. He also said that Mike's story would have ended differently if Cus had been alive longer.
"His sister Denise made me promise to keep Mike from Don. She called him a clown."
He claimed that Tyson was the victim of 'deceit and betrayal'.
