Boxing Legend's Modest Pink House Turned Museum

Muhammad Ali's childhood home, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is now on the market for a staggering £1.1million. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom property has been converted into a museum dedicated to Ali's early life, restored to its 1950s appearance.

Part of Americana

The collection, which includes two neighboring houses transformed into a gift shop and short-term rental, is being valued at £1.1million. Co-owner George Bochetto, a former Pennsylvania state boxing commissioner, emphasized the historical significance of the property, stating, "This is a part of Americana. This is part of our history and needs to be treated and respected as such."

Preserving History

Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, spent his formative years in the house before leaving for the 1960 Olympics in Rome and returning as a champion. Despite proposals to move the property to other locations like Las Vegas, Philadelphia, or Saudi Arabia, Bochetto insists on preserving the house in its original site, citing its importance to Louisville and Kentucky's history.

From Humble Beginnings to Global Icon

The boxing legend, who went on to become a three-time heavyweight champion, grew up in modest circumstances in the pink childhood home. The property, now a museum offering a glimpse into Ali's early life, stands as a tribute to his enduring legacy.
