NATASHA JONAS was finally crowned a World Champion at her third attempt, after she jumped up to super-welterweight in order to snag WBO gold.
The Liverpool queen was coronated down the M62 in Manchester after two failed attempts at super-feather.
Jonas has finally won a professional title in the world
Chris Namus, Uruguay's largest woman, was defeated by Jonas, with Mela's name prominently embossed on her black pants in gold. Jonas won the title with two rounds.
She roared, "I can't put it into words," "I have made so much sacrifices, not only in boxing, but throughout my entire life."
"My trainer Joe Gallagher did so much for me. He never takes credit when his fighters do well, and he always takes the blame when things go wrong.
"This belt is for Mela, my little girl. I can't wait until you bring it home, baby girl."
Jonas was the first female to represent Team GB in boxing in 2009. However, she failed to win Olympic medals.
It seemed as though a world title might also slip through the fingers of the 37-year old.

Namus was violently dropped in the first round by Jonas' southpaw position. A booming lefthand and chopping righthook - which landed her foe - collided.
Couregeously Namus, who had Manchester United striker Edinson cavani in the crowd supporting and cheering her on, got back up in time and tried again in the second.
However, Jonas' punches proved too powerful and precise for Namus to sustain serious injury in the second round. The referee stopped the assault.
