BOXING pros slated Canelo Alvarez's trilogy triumph over fellow legend Gennady Golovkin.
As fighters criticized the "unimpressive" fight, Brit Chris Eubank Jr. urged GGG, 40 to either step down or retire.
Canelo Alvarez land on Gennady Gorlovkin, but the two icons failed convincing blows in front of top pros
Golovkin was a big name in boxing, and was rarely in danger in Canelo’s win by 116-112, 112-112, 115113, 115113.
Mexican Canelo (32), however, stated that he needed surgery on his left arm in order to avenge Dmitry Bivol.
After Golovkin won two of his three bouts against the Kazakh hero Golovkin, fight rivals were quick to point out Golovkin's mistakes.
Enzo Maccarinelli may have nailed the common verdict by claiming Canelo won much easier than the scorecards indicated.
The ex-world champion cruiserweight king of Wales posted: "9-3 and, that's being generous, two warriors one still elite. One not anymore boxing.
Paul Malignaggi, former world welterweight champion, insists: "Canelo always kept this fight in his back pocket. Not impressive. At 168, Benavidez is the real test and not a GGG aged 40 years.
Caleb Truax, ex-super-middleweight title holder, tweeted: "Those three are the worst scorecards ever."
Sergia Mora, a third American light-middeweight king, stated: "Them scorecards being eread put more worry in Canelo that the 12 rounds he just took with GGG!" 115-113! Wow!"
Eubank Jr. looked forward, not back when he suggested that Golovkin stop fighting at super-middleweight.
He wrote: "GGG, you had a great race. Let's get back to middleweight and let's fight in December for those belts or just pass them over. I'll take care of them for the next few years while you retire...you earned it, champ.
Eubank was criticized by fans on social media, claiming that GG would still get his measure.
Replies like "Have an extra day son" or "boring" were accompanied with opinions such as: "He would still beat me."
