"Oh my God, no" - Canelo Avarez laughs at Conor McGregor and dismisses McGregor fight

CANELO ALVAREZ is widely considered the best pound for pound boxer in the entire world and has asked Conor McGregor not to fight him.

Caleb Plant will take on the Mexican 31-year-old in a Las Vegas super-middleweight match.

During the build-up for the mega-fight, McGregor was also questioned by the Mexican.

The Irishman is currently a UFC two-weight champion and made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

McGregor lost the match in the 10th round and was subsequently relegated to the octagon.

Canelo, who suffered a pro loss against Mayweather, doesn't believe McGregor should be allowed to return to the boxing ring.

Alvarez said to BT Sport Boxing, "Oh my God, no." Do not try to man, do not try."

Canelo has never lost since Mayweather taught him in 2013.

The Mexican fighter has been unbeaten in 15 of his fights, and has become a four-weight champion around the world.

His last two wins were against British opponents, Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders.

Saunders won the WBO super-middleweight title. He also added WBA and WBC to his WBA and WBC belts.

He is now focusing on the final piece in the 168lb division, as he prepares for his fight against Plant, the IBF champion.

Plant was left with a bruised eye after a heated exchange between the pair at September's press conference.

Canelo, a 31-year old superstar, has made it clear that he will inflict serious damage on Plant.

He stated, "It's a new experience for me to have so much bad blood with an enemy."

It's very different than normal, and it's definitely caused the most animosity with my opponent before he goes into a big fight.

"I am sticking to my prediction of a knockout in round eight.

"The fight will be tough in the first few rounds, but I'm going to be able get him out as the fight goes on.

"I gave the message that I needed to at our press conference. Plant doesn't need anything else. I will just prepare to meet him in the ring, November 6.
