OLEKSANDR USAK was so exhausted after beating Anthony Joshua, he took 40 winks right after the fight.
In his Tottenham tussle against AJ last September, the undefeated Ukrainian boxer put on a masterclass to win the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles.
With a stunning performance in September, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua
The undefeated Ukrainian defeated AJ 12 times in a row
The Ukrainians didn't celebrate with wild revelries. After the fight, the Ukrainian fell asleep in the hotel
Slick southpaw Usyk weaved and bobbed his way to a famed unanimous decision victory. He was left struggling to celebrate when he returned to the fighter hotel.
According to the 35-year old, Boxing Scene, "It was a very difficult fight for me."
"Everyone keeps saying that it was easy, but it wasn't. It was hard work for him as well as for me.
"After the fight, i returned to the hotel and ate some food. I fell asleep sitting up."
Joshua, the former undisputed champion in cruiserweight, is set to take on Usyk again next month in a multimillion-pound Saudi showdown.
After Russia invaded Ukraine in February, the victorious rematch between the pair was put into serious doubt. However, Usyk managed to flee his war-torn homeland to prepare himself for the fight.
The proud Ukrainian stated that all he did was pray.
"I didn't want to leave Ukraine but I visited my friends from the military and visited them in hospital.
"All of them were asking for me to take part in this fight, to fight the rematch and to fight on behalf of the entire country of Ukraine.
"Even my spouse, I wanted to send them out of Ukraine with my children, but she refused. [She replied,] "I wouldn't go, and that's all."
Joshua, 32, has asked Robert Garcia, a world champion trainer, to help him in his potentially decisive rematch against Usyk.
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of the Brits, urged him to keep it on the champion the second time.
He stated that he didn't believe you could be aggressive against Oleksandr Uzyk but that you must be aggressive.
He needs to be more open-minded. He must do his best to harm Oleksandr Usyk and get him out of his groove.
"I don’t think Oleksandr Uzyk enjoys being hit.
"I don’t believe he enjoyed being hit first in the fight, and he didn’t get hit much."
"AJ must take chances when they are presented to him and he has to be more intelligent. He has to be open-minded.
