Anthony Joshua's rematch against the heavyweight champ is now in doubt.

Both are agreed to a rematch immediately.

Their second fight is now in doubt due to the Ukraine crisis. Joshua, however, has sent his support for Usyk, 35.

It follows the news that Usyk took up arms in Ukraine's desperate battle against Vladimir Putin's Russia.

Now Usyk says that defending his country is his primary priority, and not focusing on his rerun with AJ.

He stated, "I don't know when" he would be returning to the ring.

"My pride and my country are more important than a belt to me."

Joshua said to iFL TV, "I've realized sports and politics go hand-in-hand." They are strong voices, and it's good that they are speaking out.

They aren't pushing for war; they are saying, "Let's find peace."

Usyk joined the Kyiv Territorial Defence, and carried a machine gun across his massive shoulder.

He is now with Vasiliy Lomachenko, his best friend, and legendary boxers Wladimir (Kyiv mayor Vitali), in swapping guns for gloves.

Usyk flew to London last week to see Chelsea defeat Lille on Tuesday night, and to visit Sheffield on Wednesday.

He met with Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn to discuss a date for the heavyweight match and a venue.

The brave southpaw, however, returned to the warzone immediately and posted a series of videos to Putin and the invading Russian hooves before arming himself on Monday.

Hearn had hoped to stage the AJ rematch in May or June but it now appears that Hearn will have to postpone the event.
