December 23 or Never
Oleksandr Usyk has issued an ultimatum to Tyson Fury, stating that their undisputed title fight in Saudi Arabia must take place on December 23 or not at all. Promoter Frank Warren had suggested that the fight could be pushed back to as late as February due to Fury's injuries sustained in his recent bout with Francis Ngannou. However, the contract for the fight stipulates the December 23 date, and only a serious injury with a legitimate doctor's note can delay it. Usyk has made it clear that he wants the fight to happen as scheduled.
IBF May Strip Usyk of World Title
If Usyk does not defend his IBF world title in the four-belt battle against Fury before the end of the year, the IBF may strip him of the title. This would allow long-standing mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic to compete for it. Time is running out for negotiations, and Usyk has a simple response if Team Fury proposes a rearranged date: "No."
Usyk Wants to Settle the Score
Oleksandr Usyk has remained composed in the face of Tyson Fury's trash talk, stating that he is not interested in street brawls and only wants to settle the score with Fury in the ring. Usyk, a former cruiserweight ruler, is focused on becoming the undisputed world champion at two weights and making history.
